Surgery for Peyronie's disease
There are more than twenty surgical techniques for correcting penile curvature but they can be grouped as follows:
- Shortening of the penis on the opposite side of the plaque to correct the curvature. Some of them include simple plication, modified plication, Nesbit technique etc
- Incisions in the plaque and placement of a patch made of a bio-compatible material.
- Penile prosthesis implant and breakage of the plaque. Should only be done in patients with penile curvature and erectile dysfunction.
